Marlene DeLuca award

In honor of Marlene DeLuca who pioneered the science of bioluminescence and chemiluminescence, one of her many contributions being cloning of the firefly luciferase gene, Berthold Technologies traditionally awards the prizes at the biennial ISBC meeting.

The award is intended to encourage young researcher in their scientific work and they are awarded $1,500.00.











2016-Marlene DeLuca award

The Marlene DeLuca Prize, generously provided by Berthold Technologies, has been awarded during the 19th ISBC Meeting (held in Tsukuba Japan) to three scientists from Germany, USA, and Japan. This prize has been named in honor of Marlene DeLuca who has pioneered the science of bioluminescence and chemiluminescence, one of her many contributions being cloning of the firefly luciferase gene.

For outstanding scientific contributions to the 18th ISBC, hosted by Prof. Roland Lindh, Uppsala University, the Marlene DeLuca award has been presented to 3 scientists from Oman, Japan and Sweden.
